CHLI

At the CHLI , I wrote various memos, talking points, press releases and prepared reports in topics including immigration, education and diversity; writing in both English and Spanish.

Furthermore, during this time, I became the point of contact between the CHLI and House and Senate Congressional offices as I took part in the planning of most of the organizations’ biggest events.

ACLU Of GA

As a legal intern, I contributed to background research for several lawsuits regarding civil rights issues brought forth by the ACLU. As a result, I became adept on the elements of judicial procedures.

Furthermore, in this position I attended several hearings in the Georgia Superior Court, Georgia Court of Appeals and the Northern District of Georgia District Court and prepared briefs summarizing these events.

Smart Justice Campaign

As a Smart Justice Campaign Intern for the ACLU of Georgia, I have filed reports on the outcome of multiple races for this past midterm elections, using indicators like DPI and Legislative District CompetitivenesAssessments.

I also redacted various briefings predicting the outlook of potential races in Georgia; Fulton, Dekalb, Cobb and Gwinnett county.

U.S. Congress

As an intern for Congresswoman Mucarsel-Powell, I was tasked with legislative research on areas such as Healthcare, Education, Housing and Immigration. This experience allowed me to familiarize myself with the nature and language of legislative documents such as District and Supreme Court cases, bills and resolutions.

Additionally, in this position. I attended briefings, committee meetings and policy groups, which help me immerse myself on the legislation process I hope to be involved with one day.
